The Inkfiller® system produced by I-Tech and distributed by Inter Ser has been installed for the first time in Brazil at the Cecafi group’s facility in Serra Azul.

Inkfiller^®, the automatic filling system for inks, materials and digital glues developed by I-Tech and distributed worldwide by Inter Ser, has now arrived in Brazil. The first company in the country to adopt the system is Cerâmica Carmelo Fior (Cecafi), a group that ranks as Brazil’s largest tile manufacturer by volume and eighth worldwide with an output of 97 million square metres of tiles in 2024.

A group with more than thirty-five years of experience in the industry and five production units across Brazil, Carmelo Fior recently installed Inkfiller® at its Cerâmica Serra Azul facility. Just two months after commissioning, the company has confirmed its complete satisfaction with the system’s performance and is already considering installing a second unit at another production site.

“The system went into operation in the first week of September,” explains Guilherme Delfino Vieira, Maintenance Manager at the Serra Azul facility. “Installation was quick and straightforward, and maintenance is equally simple and intuitive.”

The version installed at Cerâmica Serra Azul is Inkfiller Pro®, configured to feed three digital printers with four colours. The solution has eliminated the need for an operator, reduced errors and product waste and improved overall process efficiency, while also optimising ink maintenance and transport costs.

“The system fully came up to our expectations,” confirms Production Manager Paulo Lacerda. “It was started up rapidly and operates without problems or line stoppages, which is crucial for our production process. Moreover, the time operators can dedicate to production, quality control and other value-added activities has increased by more than 30%. Inkfiller has had a very positive impact on operational efficiency, and we are already sharing this experience with other facilities owned by the group.”

The installation at Carmelo Fior marks a strategic milestone for Inkfiller® in the South American market. With almost 200 installations worldwide, the system confirms its status as the benchmark technology for the automatic feeding of digital printers in the ceramic industry.
